Step Three: Syndication

The path to creating a successful & integrated social media network.

Step 3. Syndication-

The proliferation of your content across the Social Media Networks is a huge part of staying top of mind and it also allows your message to be found on a  variety of search engines and other web mediums. Conducting a quick ’Google’ search for you or your information  by your community may take them to your Social Media sites and blog before they ever find your website due in large part to how these search engines index information and what sites you are on.

Syndication of your information across the World Wide Web is paramount to getting online business. Engaging and integrating your message across multiple online networks is a powerful way to drive traffic back to your information hubs.

What Facebook is to Social Media, Google is to Search Engines. And as such, you want to make every effort to optimize your searchability here. Creating a Google Profile is a good first step.

Of course, Google is not the only game in town! I illustrate Google as the icon of search engines but truth is the second largest search engine on the planet is YouTube (which I don’t even feature here). Future syndication will likely take the form of video blogs or vlogs so you want to be aware of the impact you can make on your market share with the use of video.

There are also several other forms of syndication such as Technorati, StumpleUpon, del.icio.us as well as readers like Google, Yahoo and MSN to help syndicate your content. These tools, along with hundreds others are solely used to breach the barrier to a larger audience to make your information more easily accessible.
